2nd week-end at work: the bathroom. La salle de bain tombe!
For our second week-end working on demolition, we "attacked" the bathroom dating from the 1970s. It was sturdy but very outdated! We finished removing the old insulation on the ceiling of the mezzanine and in what will be one of the guest room and found several mummified stone martens... The full family must have lived in the fiberglass insulation for decades. Imagine the smell...
Pour notre deuxième week-end sur le chantier, nous attaquons la belle salle de bain des années 70... moche, enfin plus d'époque, mais c'était du costaud...
On a aussi fini d'enlever l'isolation de la mezzanine et d'une des chambres d'hôtes. On a trouvé quelques fouines desséchées... Plusieurs générations avaient dû s'installer dans la laine de verre. Imaginez l'odeur...

Ceiling insulation is down! And the second dumpster (bigger than the first one) is almost full...
L'isolation au plafond est à terre... et la deuxième benne, cette fois-ci de 10m cube presque pleine...

Above: bathroom after! Unfortunately, there is more cement behind every wall/furniture that we take down, we hoped we would find the original stone walls, but that will need more work...
La salle de bain après! Malheureusement, il faudra encore enlever les couches de ciment qui ont été ajoutées sur les vrais murs en pierre...
