More roof and stone work... Encore du travail sur le toit et les pierres!
The weather was super cold for May when we arrived "home", and the old fireplace is not working, and the radiators that we took down, definitely not either. We set up a garden table inside for lunch!
Ca caille dans la maison en cette mi-mai fraîche, et oui la cheminée ne marche pas, et les radiateurs déposés cet hiver non plus, forcément... Alors la table de jardin est installée dans le salon!
The crazy and costly part of our renovation project is coming: we met with 10 different contractors (plumber, mason, electrician...etc) this week to get the work started on the extension, old sheep pen, hopefully in July. Nobody works in August in France, so it should be fine to let the concrete slab dry. To get this part ready, we took down the last few tons of remaining tiles from the roof.
La partie fatiguante de notre projet arrive: nous avons rencontré une dizaine d'artisans en début de semaine (plombier, électricien, isolation, maçon...) et la surprise du coût suit...L'idée est que les travaux sur l'ex-bergerie commence en juillet, pour que la dalle sèche pendant le mois d'août. Pour préparer cette étape, nous avons enelver les quelques tonnes restantes de tuiles du toit.

Olivier is all about gardening. Tomatoes, zucchinis and eggplants are in, hopefully ready to eat when we spend almost all of August here working on the plant-filtration system.
Olivier est à fond dans le jardinage: tomates, aubergines et courgettes sont plantées. On espère qu'elles donnent au mois d'août quand nous passerons quelques semaines à faire la phyto-épuration.
And of course, we are still removing rocks from the field, and "building" a wall to protect the future vegetable garden from the wind...
Et bien entendu on empile toujours nos tas de pierres! Pour construire un nouveau "mur" qui protègera peut-être le futur potager ds vents dominants.
