Our baby goats are home! Nos petites chèvres sont arrivées!
Spring comes with goats here in Southern Burgundy, our four baby goats have just arrived. After a few shy days they are finally getting used to us. They were quite scared when they arrived after a car ride to a huge field (1 acre) just for them!... But food tames all animals and they are getting used to us and we to them!
Le printemps apporte des bébés chèvres en sud Bourgogne. Nos quatre petites chèvres naines viennent juste d'arriver, et s'habituent doucement à leur nouveau GRAND champ après un transport en voiture qui a du être stressant, elles se familiarisent. Il faut dire que la nourriture aide!
Meet Momo (after my last name..), Lulu (after Olivier's last name), Ataé (after the initial of our four nephews: Alice, Théodore, Alexandre et Eléonore) and Peluche (Teddy bear), the youngest and most curious one, the name that was given by her breeders.
Voici donc Momo (pour Moré), Lulu (pour Lucas), Ataé (pour nos neveux et nièces Alice, Théodore, Alexandre et Eléonore) et Peluche, nom donné par l'éleveur à la plus petite et la plus curieuse pour le moment.
It is easy to just spend an hour by them enjoying the views on the surrounding rolling vineyards and the Mont Blanc.... but there is still a lot to do on the house, and as the contractors are soon starting the last month of work (end of May) we have to take care of the final touches. This week end was dedicated to the two guest bathrooms in the main house. Thank you to Patrick and Corinne for spending their Eastern week end teaching us the art of floor and wall tiling!
Une heure passe vite à les regarder et contempler au passage les vues sur les vignes en bourgeons et le Mont Blanc. Cependant, il y a fort à faire sur la maison. Les artisans attaquent bientôt leur dernier moi de travail (fin chantier prévue fin mai). A nous les finitions... Ce week end, nos amis Patrick et Corinne sont venus nous apprendre à poser du carrelage au sol et aux murs. Nous avons bossé sur les deux salles de bain des chambres d'amis de la maison. Un grand merci pour ce week end de Pâques passé dans les carreaux!
The carpenter has put the wooden mezzanine, made of poplar tree and this room might become my favorite one: beautiful views on the outside and on the big wooden beams of the living room. Super cozy!
Le menuisier a posé la mezzanine en peuplier. Ce sera peut être ma pièce préférée avec sa vue sur l'extérieur et sur les poutres de la pièce principale.
